It can be quite tough to find a good tape measure these days – unless you have access to a Stanley Powerlock, that is. Powerlocks have a classic no-frills look and feel which make them easily recognized amongst hobbyists and pros alike.
 

There are so many mediocre (or worse) tapes from no-name brands around, that many people don’t even know what a good tape measure feels like!

Blade 

  • Markings are bold, sharp, and clearly printed on the blade

Housing

  • Grooved grip around the metal body is simple, yet comfortable
  • Blade slides out quickly and easily with little friction
  • Blade retracts slower to prevent violent blade whiplash
  • Sturdy lock holds blade securely

Cons

  • Sweaty hands and smooth metal-bodied tape measures don’t always mix well…

inch metric?

i have 2 stanley 5m with both imperial (inch) and metric readings onone tape.
super accurate and have lasted me forever.

the inch feet readings are useful when dealing with american plans
and selecting timber.

i would buy the 8m one in a heartbeat for bigger site jobs
for workshop work the 5m one is better.

Just a question and an observation:
The label says 8m 26' (26 feet)
The product pic of the actual tape psrt when i zoom in is only cm/mm so some error there?

is a metric imperial vesion avialable at this price?
