The Shinwa Japanese Combination Square is a 90º Try Square and a 45º Mitre Square. It is fully machined from stainless steel with all incremental graduations etched and black.
The wide flat base allows this square to stand by itself for power tool setup or it can be hooked on the edge of your stock for layout work.
Shinwa is known worldwide as a premium measuring and marking tool manufacturer and we are extremely proud to be able to add this superb tool to our Japanese Tools line-up.
Please note: Should you wish to fully explore the art of Japanese Joinery, send us an email and we will specially order this square for you in Japanese "Sun" graduations, which eliminates the need for trigonometrical calculation when making complex Japanese Joints.
I bought mine years ago in USA/European Japanese woodworking stores. Unbelievable quality very useful. Look no further.
I bought my Shinwa combination square a few months ago and enjoy using it to set my table saw for cutting miters and also for marking out pen blanks. Very simple to use and dead accurate. No removable parts to worry about losing. It cannot easily be knocked out of square, unlike conventional tri-squares. Every workshop or handy drawer even, should have a Shinwa square in it.
