Rubio Monocoat is a natural, oil-based finishing product renowned for its exceptional quality and advantages over other wood finishing products.

As the name suggests, Rubio “Mono” coat requires only a single application to molecularly bond to the fibres of the wood. This mono-coat system applies to all wood surfaces, including furniture, flooring, decking, and cladding.

Benefits of Rubio Monocoat

Traditional finishes tend to conceal the wood grain. Rubio Monocoat enhances the wood's natural features due to it's design.

Wide range of applications and colours – Thanks to its broad use, Rubio boasts an impressive 24 stain colours and 64 oil colours for interior use, as well as 20 oil colours and 27 WoodCream colours for exterior applications.

Durability – Due to its molecular bonding structure, Rubio provides excellent protection against wear, moisture, and UV exposure – depending on the product.

Maintenance – Rubio's long-lasting durability ensures a finish that doesn't require frequent maintenance. Moreover, surface preparation is minimal when reapplying Rubio Monocoat.

Curing time – Unlike varnishes, Rubio dries rapidly, which means further material work can be carried out sooner rather than later.

Environmentally friendly – Because Rubio is made from natural plant-based oils, the product doesn't contain harmful VOCs, is eco-friendly, and, in some cases, can be applied to food preparation surfaces.

Yes, apply Hybrid Wood Protector for all exterior wood surfaces and Rubio WoodCream for all vertical wood surfaces.

How long does it take to cure?
Oil Plus 2C and Hybrid Wood Protector, combined with Part B (Accelerator), will dry within 12/24 hours. Fully cured in 5 days.

Can you apply it over a stain?
Yes, ensure the water-based stain has dried adequately for 24 hours. Refer to the Precolor Easy & Pre-Aging technical data sheet.

Can you put polyurethane over Rubio Monocoat?
Yes. However, polyurethane is not generally needed thanks to the molecular bonding of the Rubio Monocoat with the wood fibres.

Can you put epoxy over Rubio Monocoat?
It's not recommended.
