150ml Mount-It

NO MORE NAILS!
A high strength grab adhesive for easy and quick fixing of various objects without drilling, screwing and nailing.

Bostik Mount It has a high initial tack and grab, enabling small parts to be held in place without the need for clamping. The non-slump rheology makes it easy to apply on vertical surfaces and to bond uneven surfaces. It is ideal for interior and exterior use in any DIY project.

Fixing wall signs such as name plates, house numbers, plastic lettering, information signs, picture frames and decorations. Bonding wall & floor tiles, window sills, stones, electrical boxes. Joining floorboards and gluing down loose carpets. Suitable to use on expanded polystyrene.

Provides excellent adhesion to plywood, blockwood, chipboard, hardboard, MDF, timber, laminated plastics, rigid PVC, polycarbonate, aluminium, steel, galvanized iron, tin plate and other non ferrous metals, brick, natural stone, cork, cardboard, expanded polystyrene, rubber, painted and varnished surfaces, fiberglass, ceramic tiles, carpet backing, sand cement screeds, concrete, plaster, plasterboard and insulation boards.

Not suitable for placing hooks that will carry large loads or for bonding wall mirrors. At least one of the substrates must be porous. Do not use in areas subject to continuous water immersion. Not suitable for bonding onto bitumen or asphalt. Not suitable for bonding some plastics, such as polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon. Not recommended where a rigid joint is required e.g. to repair a broken vase. Not suitable for bonding heavy objects onto weak surfaces such as paint, friable plaster or soft board. Not suitable as a structural adhesive.

How to use

  • Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, structurally sound, dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, rust and loose material
  • Porous surfaces such as plaster and fibre cement board should first be primed with a suitable primer
  • Smooth non-porous surfaces such as metals, plastics and rubbers should be lightly abraded with sandpaper and degreased with a solvent
  • Glass should be cleaned with a solvent such as acetone or ethanol
  • Enamel-based paints need to be lightly sanded
  • Building panels should be cut to shape beforehand

Wall Panels

  • Apply the desired amount of adhesive (usually 6mm in diameter) to the rear of the panel in short and discontinuous beads at approximately 5cm spacing
  • For an uneven surface, apply a discontinuous bead in a wave-like pattern Immediately present the panel to the wall slightly above its required position and applying pressure slide it into place in order to break any surface skin
  • Press firmly for approximately 10 seconds
  • If necessary, tap lightly with a soft mallet to ensure maximum overall contact
  • Any adjustment must be made within 5 minutes of placing
  • In some instances it may be necessary to use temporary mechanical support until final bond strength is reached (approx 24 hours)

Heavy panels and non-porous surfaces

  • After pressing panel to the wall, break the bond by pulling away immediately ensuring good transfer has occurred
  • Wait a maximum of 5 minutes before rejoining the two materials and pressing firmly together
  • If may be necessary to use temporary mechanical support (e.g. panel pins, masonry nails, masking tape, etc) until final bond strength is reached (approx 48 hours for non porous surfaces)."

Cleaning

  • Clean uncured product and applicators with warm water
  • Dried adhesive can be removed with hot water or a solvent such as acetone

Storage Stability

  • Bostik Mount It has a shelf life of 24 months if stored in a safe, cool (below 25°C) and dry place in its original moisture-tight container
  • If the material is kept beyond the recommended shelf life, it is not necessarily unusable, but a check should be performed to observe whether the product is still workable
